Balancing Family and Business: Ira Giri’s Success Story with Best in Class Education

September 3, 2024

Our franchisee, Ira Giri, is featured in a recent piece on FranchiseWire, where she shares her journey of building a successful Best in Class Education Center while maintaining a fulfilling family life.

Ira Giri’s journey from India to the U.S. in 2001 was a transformative chapter in her life. Armed with a background in environmental sciences and a degree from the National Institute of Information and Technology, Giri initially pursued a career that blended academics with creativity. However, as family responsibilities took precedence, she set her professional dreams aside.

Her path took a significant turn when she began volunteering at her son’s daycare, which ignited her passion for education. Giri earned a childcare certification and transitioned into teaching, but she found the traditional school system’s constraints challenging. Determined to find a better fit for her educational philosophy, she discovered the Best in Class Education Center franchise.

Launching her first Best in Class location in Katy, Texas, in 2013, Giri expanded to Richmond, Texas, with a second location in 2015. The franchise’s commitment to personalized, technology-driven education aligned perfectly with her vision. Balancing the roles of a mother and business owner, Giri faced the challenge of managing multiple locations while maintaining family commitments.

Through trial and error, Giri mastered the art of balancing her dual roles. “Juggling responsibilities often led to staff issues as I tried to manage everything simultaneously,” she shares. “However, I quickly adapted, learned to approach tasks with greater care, and proactively planned my days in advance.”

Giri appreciates the Best in Class model for its flexibility, diverse revenue sources, and supportive environment. She plans to enhance her offerings with language and public speaking courses and to extend operational days. Her day-to-day routine involves interacting with students and families, conducting both in-person and virtual meetings, and providing support across locations.

Beyond her business achievements, Giri finds immense fulfillment in giving back to her community. She creates job opportunities for local educators, offers scholarships, and organizes free SAT/ACT workshops. Her support extends to educational initiatives like book fairs and literacy programs, and she encourages her team to volunteer.

Giri’s story exemplifies how one can successfully balance family and business while making a positive community impact. Through her work with Best in Class Education, she has found not only personal success but also the joy of contributing to the broader educational landscape.

Her story is a testament to how Best in Class empowers franchisees to thrive both personally and professionally!
